Under the direction of Head Coach Matt Marrone (Penn State New Kensington) the Iron Bucks finished 2020 with a share of the regular season title. We were able to compete in a manner that was safe and competitive during the pandemic.
We are excited to build off last season and continue to compete in the Tri-State Collegiate Baseball Summer League in 2021. Under the direction of 2019 Head Coach, Dan Helgert, the team finished with an 18-9 record.
The team will consist of current collegiate or incoming freshman baseball players from the Greater Pittsburgh area. Our goal is to provide a unique opportunity for each athlete to continue to grow as a player, teammate and person to help prepare them for the upcoming fall season.
Tri-State Collegiate League season consists of 28 regular season games beginning early June and ending July 19th (playoffs). We will play at least 14 home games at historic Pullman Park in Butler, PA and play a maximum of 14 road games with light travel. There are three other teams located in the Pittsburgh area and five teams located in Ohio. The only team overnight stay will be in Toledo the other doubleheader’s we will be traveling after the game.
More importantly, the players develop and compete due in large part to the coaches since 2015. They have helped create an atmosphere that is about the player. Thank you!
Why we do what we do
We entered the Tri-State Summer Collegiate Baseball League in 2015 with the goal of providing competitive baseball for our players and league. We believe in competitive development. The league provides an opportunity for the athletes to prepare to compete for a spot in the Fall, develop their skills, and be around some awesome people.
Our team primarily consists of Western Pennsylvania student-athletes from all levels. We started with the mindset to provide DIII athletes with the opportunity to play a high level throughout the summer, and have grown into many NCAA DII, DIII, PSUAC and NAIA student-athletes.
It is an awesome league with great people and we are extremely privileged to have the opportunity.
Our fans are a real part of our team. Send us a message to cheer us on, or ask us a question about our team. We look forward to hearing from you, and we will get back to you soon.
